The Capabilities and Limitations of AI│Toby Walsh, Brad Harris, Jeff Kim

This session will explore the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in our rapidly evolving world—highlighting both its unprecedented potential to boost productivity, improve healthcare and education, and address global challenges, as well as the significant risks it poses including job displacement, ethical dilemmas, and increased inequality. As AI becomes widely accessible and levels the competitive playing field, the session will introduce the concept of authentic intelligence—the uniquely human capacities of empathy, ethical judgment, critical thinking, and purposeful leadership—that will become the true differentiators for individuals and organizations. Drawing on real-world experiences with leaders and institutions, participants will gain insights into how cultivating authentic intelligence and knowing what AI can or cannot do are essential for success in the AI era.
