[WKF 2020] How knowledge can help achieving a smoke-free future│Andre Calantzopoulos

* How knowledge can help achieving a smoke-free future(Philip Morris International, CEO): Philip Morris International (PMI) is leading the transformation in the tobacco industry to create a smoke-free future and ultimately replace cigarettes with smoke-free products for adult smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke. Since 2008, PMI has invested more than USD 7.2 billion into the science and research of developing smoke-free products, and employed more than 400 world-class scientists, engineers and technicians. As of June 30, 2020, PMI estimates that approximately 11.2 million adult smokers around the world have already stopped smoking and switched to PMI’s heat-not-burn product, available for sale in 57 markets in key cities or nationwide under the IQOS brand. There's an estimated one billion-plus smokers in the world, and they should be encouraged to quit. But for those adult smokers who would otherwise continue smoking, PMI wants to provide them with smoke-free alternatives. Following PMI CEO, André Calantzopoulos' presentation on PMI’s transformation, Kim, Byeong-do Professor of Business Administration at Seoul National University, who is a renowned scholar on the topic of business innovation, will moderate a panel session asking questions on PMI's transformation to André, Young-jay Paik the Managing Director of Philip Morris Korea, and Young-hee Jang Philip Morris Korea’s Scientific advisor.
