East Timor, a small country on Timor Island in Southeast Asia, broke free from Indonesia's rule completely in 2002 and became a newly independent nation. The World Knowledge Forum met with José Ramos-Horta, the President of East Timor, who is known as the father of East Timor's independence and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996.
