SMR to address the risks of large nuclear power plants...Would it be really possible?

The second interview of the National Report Conference is with J. Clay Sell, CEO of X-energy, a reactor and fuel design engineering company. X-energy develops SMR with 4th generation high temperature gas. SMR is a small reactor with an electric power of 300 MWe. X-energy has developed the next generation, tennis ball-shaped, and extra-safe nuclear fuel. It is also designed to produce hydrogen more economically by utilizing higher temperature. The U.S. government recognized the value of this technology and provided a $80 million initial funding. They also signed a design service contract with Korea's Doosan Enerbility for the construction of the main devices. The SMR market has grown significantly as demand for "safer nuclear power plants" has increased after the Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear accidents. Through this interview, you will be able to find out why the world is focusing on SMR. #SMR #Nuclear #NuclearFuel ☆ WKF | http://www.wkforum.org/WKF/2021/kr/ ☆ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/worldknowledgeforum/ ☆ Youtube│https://www.youtube.com/wkforum ✻ World Knowledge Forum's lecture contents are copyrighted by Maekyung Media Group.
