The Trump family is once again drawing attention with the re-election of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. While Shinsegae Group Chairman Chung Yong-jin recently met with the president-elect because he was close to Trump's eldest son, Trump Jr., the history of Trump Jr. attending the World Knowledge Forum hosted by Maeil Economy is drawing attention.
Trump Jr., senior vice president of Trump Group, visited the 11th World Knowledge Forum held by Maeil Economy at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul in 2010 at the young age of 32. It was the current title of senior vice president of Trump Group, but it was when he was taking management classes under his father.
At the time, he gave a solo lecture on the theme of "Global Real Estate Market and Trump-style Entrepreneurship." The rare lecture by the successor of the largest real estate tycoon in the U.S. was enough to catch the audience's attention.
He said his father has always emphasized four principles. These four principles were: first, you have to love what you do, second, you have to not give up until the end at all costs, third, your concentration when looking at the market, and finally, never be afraid to hear 'NO'. In particular, regarding the fourth principle, he stressed, "You should know that if you overcome your fear of rejection, you will be able to enjoy negotiations."
He also directly refuted the public's prejudice that he would have grown up without any difficulties as the son of the largest real estate conglomerate in the United States.
"This year, I'm 32 years old, and it's been 10 years since I worked for the Trump group, but I always introduce that I have 32 years of experience in the real estate sector," he said. "This is because I received management classes from my father, Chairman Trump, 24 hours a day."
