* Climate Crisis and the Future of World Energy│Fatih Birol(International Energy Agency, Executive Director): Climate change is the gravest challenge that humankind is facing in this era. Climate change and air pollution are both byproducts of fossil fuel combustion and rapid industrialization. While the effects of climate change take place over the long term, particulate air pollution urgently requires measures as it poses immediate consequences. According to the WHO, the early death toll from air pollution is believed to be 7 million per year and 92% of Asia and the Pacific’s population–4 billion-are exposed to the serious air pollution. In that sense, to cope with the air pollution problem successfully, we must build drastic policies and further international cooperation. The importance of understanding energy market, technology and dynamic interaction between the policies is bigger than it has ever been. Fatih Birol, the secretary general of IEA will provide insights on diverse fields ranging from global oil and natural gas market to implications of energy security, sustainability and economic growth. The current status of effective and innovative technology and future vision are going to be discussed alongside. #FatihBirol, #ClimateCrisis, #FutureEnergy
