[Battling the Ride-hailing Giants: Youngest Unicorn Founder Tells the Story of Taxify]

Taxify is the leading European transportation platform that’s focused on making urban travel easier, quicker and more reliable.

It’s one of the fastest growing global competitors to Uber and the CEO, 24-year-old Martin Villig, is among the youngest founders of a billion-dollar-company in the world.

Taxify started with Martin Villig’s realisation of how outdated the taxi industry was. In addition to being expensive, getting a ride also took unreasonably long, either because of outdated technology or lack of tech altogether.

Martin borrowed his college money from his parents to build the first version of the software in 2013 when he was just 19 years old.

Five years later, Taxify is a transportation platform with over 15 million users and 500,000 drivers in more than 25 countries.

Just last month, Taxify became the first ride-hailing company to launch electric scooters on its platform, getting a step closer to its mission of being the best transportation provider in Europe and Africa.

On stage, Martin will share Taxify’s journey so far and his vision of the future of mobility.
