Lee Tai Sik

Tai Sik Lee has been the President of Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) from Aug 2014 to Sep 2017. He has been researched in space and extreme construction technology for over 10 years. Recently, he led the Team MoonXConstruction, which won 1st place in NASA¡¯s 3D-Printed Habitat Challenge Phase 2 Level 2 in 2017. He graduated from Kyunggi High School (¡¯72), B.S. in Civil Engineering, Seoul National University (¡¯72), M.S. and Ph.D. in Construction Management, University of Wisconsin-Madison (¡¯90). And he has served as the President of Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management, the President of Korea Association of Procurement and Supply Management, the President of Korea Society for Railway, the President of Korean Society of Civil Engineering, the Vice President of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, Region 10 Governor of ASCE, Aerospace Division, and Korea Representation of World Federation of Engineering Organization. He has written 10 books about Space Exploration and Extreme Engineering, 13 technical books about Construction Management and Construction Cost Estimating, and 7 books for Ethics of Engineers. He developed lunar/Mars simulants (Korea Hanyang Lunar Simulant, Korea Mars Simulant), and lunar/Mars-crete in the field of space civil engineering. He is named in the 1st space civil engineer.
