 Introduction: Fundamentals of Investment

Synopsis
This one-day intensive course studies the foundations of modern investment analysis. It starts from the concept of time value of money and bond pricing. We will discuss interest rate risk and risk management. We then study the pricing of equities and how risky stocks can be combined into well diversified portfolios. We study how portfolio diversification has held up in the recent past. Finally, we will touch upon new developments in financial markets and investment strategies.
